I spent nearly 30 years as a trained aesthetician. I believed in anti-aging. Sold it. Lived it. For most of my career, I helped women try to turn back time, because that’s what we were taught to want.

But somewhere along the way, I began to question it. Not just the products, but the pressure. The silence. The idea that age is something to hide.

When I entered my fifties, after losing both my father and husband in their forties, I realised I had outlived them. That changed everything. Then menopause arrived, and with it, a new skin. My skin became drier, more reactive, less predictable. And for the first time in my life, I couldn’t find products that met me where I was. Products that honoured the changes, rather than speak against them.

That’s why I created Roake.

Because I no longer wanted to chase youth. I wanted to honour the privilege of aging, and to support my skin, as it is, not as it once was.

Roake is more than a name, it’s a tribute.
Named by my son, it’s formed from the initials of all my children. A quiet reminder that this brand carries everything I care about most.

It’s also deeply rooted in my African heritage. Our product names are chosen with intention and pride.

Olori means queen, Olewa means you are beautiful and Máadán means glow.

These are not just words. They are affirmations.
